HIGHER EDUCATION · LAW AND POLICY · ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE
Dr. Kyle R. Williams
People matter. A more just tomorrow is possible.
I work with colleges, universities, and organizations at the places where law, policy, and daily practice meet the people who live under them. Conduct systems, supervision, team health, and change management, built so the people inside them can tell they are counted.
Mattering Is Structural
Mattering is not a feeling an institution can announce. It is built out of policy, budget, supervision, and who receives the benefit of the doubt.
Schlossberg named five conditions that determine whether a person believes they matter. She was describing individuals in transition. My work extends the frame to institutions, where a policy is never a neutral administrative act. It is a statement about whose presence is expected and whose needs are expendable.
Speaking
Eight signature sessions on conduct, care, Title IX, transitions, and supervision. More than forty national and regional presentations since 2015.
Consulting
Project work, ongoing advisory partnership, and fractional or interim leadership when a seat needs to be held.
Teaching

Lessons from the Chair
Too many Black professionals have been expected to care for institutions, colleagues, and students while working in environments that have not demonstrated the same care for us. This book gives language and visibility to experiences that are too often endured in silence.

ABOUT
Do the people within this community know that they matter?
Born in a rural Appalachian community in eastern Ohio. A mother who left for the Navy, then earned three degrees in five years. Nearly two decades inside colleges and universities asking one question.
I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
2 TIMOTHY 1:5–7
Tell me what is in front of you.
I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it.
